IIMS (Integrated Inmate management system)

Integrated Inmate Management System (IIMS) is a customisable workflow solution that provides the biometric framework and integrated enterprise application for the Department of Correctional Services.

IIMS is a bespoke solution built on the Xi Development Framework and is designed to incorporate South African Laws and Policies for the management of the inmate lifecycle in an integrated modular platform, fully aligned to the President’s drive towards harnessing the digital industrial revolution and aligned to the departments goal to achieve a single view of the inmate profile.

IIIMS Enables the effective management of the offender lifecycle through the core correctional processes of admissions, detention, and release.

It is a robust system that is replacing the legacy systems across 243 Correctional Centres and 218 Community Corrections offices and incorporates modules for Health, Pharmacy, Spiritual Care, Psychology, Social Work, Nutrition, Education and skills development including managing the scheduling, attendance and assessments for the rehabilitation programmes.

IIMS aims to eliminate paper-based processes that result in erroneous data capture that are open to fraud and corruption.

PIMS (prison information management system)

PIMS is a bespoke online solution being developed for the Botswana Prison Service (BPS), developed on the Xi Development Framework and aims to move BPS from manual and paper-based processes to a smart, integrated computerised system, utilising the biometric framework to improve their efficiency.

Through the real time capture of transactions, PIMS provides real time data that are available nationally that informs decisions at BPS. The system is designed to enhance information sharing through integration to other government departments; promotes the single entry of information eliminating duplicate record capturing increasing efficiencies and reducing erroneous data entry and will stadardise operational processes throughout Botswana Prisons.

The PIMS System is a full information management system designed to support all the departments within the Prison Services and includes 4 major system modules, Inmate Management similar to that of IIMS although the prison processes and rules for sentence calculations differ substantially.

PIMS also includes full Staff Management which handles the recruitment, training programmes and assessment of BPS Staff working in the Correctional Centres. Fleet Management including vehicle procurement, maintenance and allocation of vehicles, Farm Management including livestock, crop and land management, this module also is integrated with the rehabilitation submodule.
